FINANCES....
I will happily provide you with a quote for your project. Because the price of some woods fluctuate so much, the quote will be valid for one month from the time you receive it.
These are the elements that will go into the quote, and later the Invoice.
-- Cost of Wood
-- 20% of wood cost for Wear, Tear, and Supplies (glue, screws, biscuits, sharpening, sandpaper, etc.)
-- Hardware (hinges, handles, locks, lighting, etc)
-- Finishing
For labor, I charge $20/hour, but this is negotiable. A detailed timesheet will be sent to you with the Invoice.
If you accept the quote, I ask for half up front, so as to cover my costs in getting the wood, etc. If I am able to effect any savings via sales, etc, those savings will be passed on to you via the final Invoice.
The remainder -- plus shipping costs -- will be due on completion of the Project. I will need to have the remainder in hand before shipping. Sadly, this is one mistake I learned from.
SHIPPING....
There are various options.
1) You can pick it up yourself.
2) I can deliver locally (25 mile radius) for free.
3) I can deliver within a 12-hour drive (one way) for a cost of $.46/mile plus motel lodging for one night (if distance requires it).
4) I can use a local shipping service. Using size and weight of the finished project, they are usually quite accurate in providing me with a cost, and they pack VERY well.
Reminder: the expenses associated with #3 and #4 will be added to the Invoice and must be paid before departure or shipping takes place.
